That's how much work I've gotten through LinkedIn alone in 2024.

It's from:

New relationships built on this platform

Applying to freelance writing jobs I saw posted (One turned into an ongoing retainer client that’s paid over $12,000 so far!)

Sending introductory DMs.

✅ Using the search features to find names of marketing managers, editors, and plug their info into Hunter.io to send cold emails to.

Some new clients finding me through the platform and posts. I got some freelance coaching clients this way and some freelance ghostwriting clients through this.

✅ Some clients are editors I met years ago who read my posts and have reached out about working together.

✅ It doesn’t include how much I earned through digital product sales specifically acquired there or people who subscribed to this newsletter and then purchased.

I also 1.5x my followers in the past year.

Why share?

Because I didn’t realize the number was that high. If someone asked me, I probably would have said about 30 to 40% of my business was through LinkedIn.

When in actuality, it’s 60%.

It’s important for me to keep that statistic in mind when I think about taking a week off from posting. Or when I don’t feel like commenting.

If you need to ramp up your LinkedIn posting game (or start a presence there), I highly recommend it as part of your 2025 marketing strategy.

Here are 20 templates and scripts that I use when connecting with a potential client and showing up in their DMs.

(Yes, one in particular resulted in a client that earned over $12,000 worth of freelance work in the past 15 months.)

I get that the two biggest problems I hear from freelancers when they’re thinking about getting involved on LinkedIn is:

>I don’t know what to say.

>I don’t have time to be consistent.

I get it.

And believe me, when I had two kids ages two and under, I didn’t think I had time. Or that anyone would want to hear what I’ve have to say.

But I posted 2-4x a week and grew.

Now I post about 3-4x a week and comment 3-4x a week.

It takes about two hours to three hours a week, depending on if I’m writing an article or not.

But let’s say roughly $60,000 of business resulted from three hours a week.

That’s $1,100 a week of business for about two to three hours of effort.

Worth it, right?

BTW, I’m creating my 2025 Marketing Planner that will show you in a visual calendar examples of what to do each day to market yourself and your business to get high-paying clients.

Reply with the work “Planner” if you’ll want more info on that.

Have a fantastic week ahead!

Diana

Want to Say Thanks?

Yes, I’ll totally love a “thanks so much, D!” reply here (that IS enough) or a few words about what you like about the newsletter.

Sharing this newsletter link to get more friends to sign up truly helps me.

BUT, if you want to show your gratitude with your wallet, I’d down for a monetary ‘thank you’ through the Buy Me a Coffee site. ☕️

Every little bit helps me pay for the service costs I cover to send this newsletter out, maintain my websites at DianaKelly.com and BestFreelanceTips.com and helps me pay freelancers who write for the blog.

Thank you to recent supporters 🙏
