Meet your own personal AI Agent, for everything…Proxy

Imagine if you had a digital clone to do your tasks for you. Well, meet Proxy…

Last week, Convergence, the London based AI start-up revealed Proxy to the world, the first general AI Agent.

Users are asking things like “Book my trip to Paris and find a restaurant suitable for an interview” or “Order a grocery delivery for me with a custom weekly meal plan”.

You can train it how you choose, so all Proxy’s are different, and personalised to how you teach it. The more you teach it, the more it learns about your personal work flows and begins to automate them.

Many of us want to know what the future holds so we can plan according but unless you’ve been blessed with psychic abilities, predictions are just a guess.

In this article freelance writer Stephanie Mickelson wrote for my Best Freelance Tips site, she interviewed big names in the freelance writing community (and influencers on LinkedIn you should follow)—like Kaitlyn Arford, Kat Boogaard, Andy Strote, Ashley Cummings—to hear what they think might happen in 2025.

These won’t all be shockers (no AI isn’t going away just yet) but you should check out what the seasoned pros have to say about what you can work on and control in your business.

(IMO, working on yourself, your skills, and emphasizing what sets you apart from other freelancers is always what’s going to help you stand out.)

1. AI Isn’t Taking Over—But It Is Changing Things
AI isn’t here to steal your job but to be a tool in your job. Brands are hiring writers to edit AI-generated content, prompt models, and refine copy. In 2025, get ready to see more roles for “Content Conductors” or editors and writers who blend human creativity with AI efficiency.

2. LinkedIn Is Your New BFF
Forget about scrolling X/Twitter hoping to spot editor pitch calls. LinkedIn is the platform now for freelancers. Update your profile, make it clear you’re for hire, and consider diving into the world of ghostwriting LinkedIn posts for executives.

3. Think Beyond Your Current Niches
Freelance budgets are tighter, and if you’re feeling the pinch, it might be time to diversify. Offering new services or exploring different topics could keep your cash flow steady. Read trend reports, global market data reports, and follow the money to keep up with which niches are growing and going to need more content.

4. Pitch Like You Mean It
Don’t get discouraged when pitch calls have hundreds of replies. Be proactive. Cold email your dream clients and attend local business meetups. Building authentic connections can set you apart. And hey, ya never know if you’re going to be the one the contact hires. (Also, other hiring managers might be looking at that post to get ideas of writers to contact so always put your name out there.)

Distribute your content to top magazines, social media, and email lists with a single click

"We looked at the PR world and thought: WHY does it have to be so complicated?"

So we rolled up our sleeves and built something your grandma could use (if she was into killer press releases).

At the heart of Pressmaster.ai is its AI-powered writing assistant.

This digital wordsmith will help you come up with compelling articles faster than you can say "public relations."

But it's not just about speed - the AI adapts to each user's style,

so that each piece hits the right notes with its target audience.

But wait, there's more:

From a single digital hub, you can organize, showcase, and distribute your news to top magazines, social media, and email lists with a single click.

It's like having a team of PR ninjas at your fingertips:

5. Relationships Will Be Your Secret Sauce
This will be the year to double down on relationships—with editors, fellow freelancers, and PR teams. These connections can lead to anchor clients and even collaborative “virtual agency” projects. Start gathering your team of freelancers you can refer business to and who can send work your way right now.

If you think others in your network would benefit from this read, I’d so appreciate it if you’d send the article or newsletter their way.

Have a great week ahead!
